A-4 Skyhawk Blue Angels History:

The United States Navy asked for a jet powered fighter aircraft to change the A-1 Skyraider. In reaction to that, Douglas Ed Heinemann designed the A-4 Skyhawk. He chose a design that would reduce the size, weight and the difficulty of the aircraft. It weighs only half of the United States Navy requirement and it has wings that are so solid that it does not require to be folded. The very small A-4 Skyhawk has nicknames such as "Bantam Bomber" and "Tinker Toy Bomber."
