B-52D Stratofortress Vietnam Tall Tail History:
The Stratofortress is an everlasting image of global power. It is one of the most durable aircraft ever designed. B-52s can drop bombs or be an airborne missile launching platform. The B-52D is a long-range bomber without a reconnaissance option. The B-52D modified with the "Big Belly" allows it to carry heavy loads of conventional bombs for carpet bombing over Vietnam.
On September 26, 1958, a B-52D set a world speed record of 560.705 miles per hour over a 10,000 kilometers closed circuit without a payload and that same day, another B-52D established a world speed record of 560.675 miles per hour over a 5,000 kilometer closed sircuit without a payload. On November 22, 1972, a B-52D from U-Tapao was hit by a SAM while on a raid over Vinh. The first crew was forced to abandon the damaged aircraft over Thailand. This was the first B-52 destroyed by hostile fire in Vietnam. The zenith of B-52 attacks in Vietnam was Operation Linebacker II, consisting of waves of B-52s (mostly B-52Ds). B-52D tail gunners were credited for shooting down two MiG-21 "Fishbeds."

These models are made to match the image you see here using blueprints and specs on-hand in our production facility. Production & Delivery time for a Made To Order model is approximately 12-14 weeks.
While the full price will show in the shopping cart and on your receipt, we will only charge your card an initial deposit equal to 50% of the retail price. We will charge the remaining balance once production is complete and your model is prepared for shipping.
