Built by the Douglas Aircraft Company, the C-133 Cargomaster was a military transport aircraft built between 1956 and 1961. It first flew on April 23, 1956. The US Air Force and NASA were its primary users. It differed greatly from its predecessors which were the C-74 Globemaster and C-124 Globemaster II. Only 50 Cargomasters were built. It proved to be really useful during the Vietnam War. It retired in 1971 when the C-5 Galaxy entered service.

The C-133 Cargomaster has a wingspan of 54.8m, length of 48m, and height of 14.7m. 6 crewmembers can board the aircraft. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney T34-P-9W turboprop engines, it can reach a maximum speed of 359 mph. Of the 50 C-133 Cargomasters produced, nine crashed and one was wrecked in a ground fire. Some Cargomasters are on display in different museums. Its two variants were the C-133A and C-133B.
