The C-27J Spartan is a military transport aircraft which originated in Italy/United States. It was manufactured by Alenia. The C 27J was derived from the G.222 aircraft. The aircraft was selected as the Joint Cargo Aircraft for the United States military.

The C-27J Spartan was primarily used by the Italian Air Force and the Hellenic Air Force. The C-27J was also used by the Bulgarian Air Force, Romanian Air Force, United States Army and the United States Air Force. The United States Army has a requirement of up to 75 C-27J Spartan while the USAF has a requirement of up to 70 C-27J Spartan.
