Grumman FF-1 History:
First flown in 1931, the Grumman FF-1, affectionately known as "Fifi ", was noteworthy for its innovative design characteristics that marked a great step forward in aircraft design - first fighter with retractable landing gear.
The FF Biplane is a naval fighter type of aircraft. It was manufactured by Grumman and designed by Leroy Grumman. Its maiden flight was on the 21st of December 1931 and it was introduced in 1933. Its primary user was the United States Navy. The aircraft was produced from 1932 to 1934. It retired from the service in 1940.
The FF 1 was the first aircraft designed by Grumman's for the United States Navy use. On the 22nd of April 1931 the first of its kind, the XFF-1, was built and put into contract. And on the 21st of December of the same year the initial flight of the aircraft took place. The XFF-1 was powered by Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engine with 575-horsepower and later changed to Cyclone with 750-horsepower that made it reached the top speed of 201mph on its testing period. It is said to be that fastest aircraft of US Navy during that time.
On the 19th of December 1932, a production order was placed for a number of FF-1 aircrafts. Its deliveries took place in June 1933 to Fighter Squadron VF-SB of the USS Lexington.

While the full price will show in the shopping cart and on your receipt, we will only charge your card an initial deposit equal to 50% of the retail price. We will charge the remaining balance once production is complete and your model is prepared for shipping.
