Harrier GR 7, RAF History:

The Harrier GR7 is a single-seat, multi-role combat aircraft capable of operating in extreme environments and from a wide selection of locations, including deployed air bases and aircraft carriers. It is a second generation vertical/short takeoff and landing jet used by the British Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy. Developed from the earlier Hawker Siddeley Harrier, it is closely related to the US-built AV-8B Harrier II.

Following the retirement of the Sea Harrier, the Fleet Air Arm commenced operations with the Harrier GR7 and GR9.
