F-111 Aardvark History:
The F-111 Aardvark was a response to a joint services requirement in the 1960s for a long range interceptor (US Navy) and deep-strike interdictor (US Air Force). A multipurpose tactical fighter bomber capable of supersonic speeds, the Aardvark got its nickname from its long, slightly upturned nose.
The F-111 provided many firsts among weapons systems. It was the first production aircraft with variable swing wings that could be swept back or brought forward to increase efficiency. It also had the first terrain-following radar, allowing it to fly at night at high speeds and low altitudes. Despite being one of the more controversial aircraft ever to fly, the Aardvark achieved one of the safest operational records of any aircraft in USAF history.

These models are made to match the image you see here using blueprints and specs on-hand in our production facility. Production & Delivery time for a Made To Order model is approximately 12-14 weeks.
While the full price will show in the shopping cart and on your receipt, we will only charge your card an initial deposit equal to 50% of the retail price. We will charge the remaining balance once production is complete and your model is prepared for shipping.
