F-9F Panther USMC History:
The F9F Panthers were the first carrier jets to see combat service in Korea and performed almost half of all attack missions for the Navy and Marine Corps.
The prototype Panther piloted by Corky Meyer, first flew on November 24, 1947. The Panther was the most widely used US Navy jet fighter during the Korean War, having flown 78,000 sorties and downed a North Korean Yakovlev Yak-9 fighter. There's a total of 1,382 F9F production, with several variants shipped to Argentina for export. The F9F Panther has a maximum speed of 579 mph and a range of 1,300 miles. Armament include four 20-mm cannon and underwing hardpoints for two 1,000 lb bombs or six 5 in HVAR rockets.
There were at least two Panthers restored to airworhty condition and operated as privately-owned warbirds, both in the USA. Currently, only one Panther remains operational. The Panther played a prominent role in the 1954 movie "Men of the Fighting Lady". It was also featured in the flying sequences in the 1955 movie "The Bridges at Toko-Ri".

While the full price will show in the shopping cart and on your receipt, we will only charge your card an initial deposit equal to 50% of the retail price. We will charge the remaining balance once production is complete and your model is prepared for shipping.
